Where the Wild Things Are vs. 9
Two very different trailers face off! Where the Wild Things Are, one of the most beloved childrens book ever written, hits theaters later this year. Warner Brothers, with films like The Dark Knight and Watchmen, under their belt, clearly aren’t afraid to take risks.
9 is an animated action epic. From producer Tim Burton, 9 looks to change the way people look at animated films. Although being an animated film may turn people off, put together the directors of films such as “Wanted”, “Corpse Bride”, “Sweeney Todd” and more, how can this be bad?
Which film are you looking forward to the most? Comment and let us know, I’ll let you know the winner soon!

Dimension Films Remaking Classic Film
An American Werewolf in London is widely considered a horror cult classic. Now, Dimension films has acquired the rights, and is set to re-make the film. John Landis, who directed the original, will serve as an executive producer, and maybe a consultant.
The original saw two American hikers get attacked by a mysterious animal that turns out to be a werewolf.

Box Office Predictions
After Transformers exploded beyond all expectations, two new films will try and stop its reign at number one.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is definitely the bigger of the two films opening. However, it lacks the buzz of a Shrek the third, or Spider-man 3. In fact, not many people were looking forward to this sequel (were they?). While there is a lack of strong family films out there, and Up has been out for over a month, it should do decent business. Ice Age will not, however, bring in business like the second film, which opened with close to $70 million. Look for this one to open much lower, with around $40-43 million.
Transformers should retain the top spot. Look, critics hate it, but audiences clearly like it. Look for a drop of less than 50 percent, and a second weekend of around $52-55 million.
Public Enemies, the latest film from Michael Mann (Collateral, Heat, Miami Vice) is the biggest question. Starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, it should draw in the adult audiences. Still, it lacks the explosions of a Transformers, and its more serious tone could scare away people. However, $34-37 million should be about right.
Fourth should be The Hangover, although, once again, it could go to the Proposal. Look for both to get around $11-14 million.

Transformers Smashes Competition
1. “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” $112 million.
2. “The Proposal,” $18.5 million.
3. “The Hangover,” $17.2 million.
4. “Up,” $13 million.
5. “My Sister’s Keeper,” $12 million.
Transformers had a very strong opening, despite opening on Wednesday, and has a chance to make $400 million. Up has crossed the $250 million mark, and is the highest grossing film of the year for a few days, before Transformers catches it. The first Transformers film made $70 million its first weekend.
Also, Transformers 5 day total stands at $201 million, just behind The Dark Knight, which made $203 million. It’s unlikely it can hold up as well, but, it might be a very close race. Also, it has the third-largest worldwide opening, making $387 million…after one weekend.
The Hangover now has $183 million, and has the $200 million mark in its sights, as well as passing The Wedding Crashers as the second highest grossing R-rated comedy.

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Film Coming
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is being adapted for the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter says the story follows a descendent of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is racheted up several notches when creatures — actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis — begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure’s true secrets.
