Hangover Hangs On Again

After narrowly beating “Up” last weekend, “The Hangover” has once again took the top spot with an estimated $33.4 million.  The film, directed by Todd Phillips (Old School) has made $105.4 million in ten days.  It cost only $31 million to make.  Experts predict that the film will hit the $200 million mark. 

“Up” also held up strong in the number two slot with $30.5 million.  It has earned $187.2 million after three weeks.  In comparison, Wall-E had earned $163 million after the same time period. 

“The Taking of Pelham 123″, starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta opened at number three with $25 million.

Finishing up the top five was “Night of the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian with $9.6 million and “Land of the Lost” with $9.2 million.  They have earned $143.4 million and $35 million respectively.

Opening outside of the top five was “Imagine That”, the latest film to star Eddie Murphey.  It opened with only $5.6 million, and continues his string of flops including “Meet Dave”.
